Happy Easter

We had a great Easter this year, a little different, but great nonetheless. We have started babysitting for some people that live out by our church. He is very Jewish, and she is very Catholic, but they teach their children Jewish principles. I left my cell phone at their house the night before Easter and we stopped by after church to get it. Her whole family was over as well as part of his, and they invited us in to be introduced. The next thing we knew they were sitting us down at the table and setting a place for us to eat with them! They were super nice and so fun to be around. We just never thought we would have Easter dinner with our Jewish friends! Kind of funny.

Jack was dressed up in his new little Easter outfit that came from the Easter bunny...he looked so cute in it! Everyone was complimenting him all day.

The Easter bunny left us lots of goodies! The pretzels and chocolate bunnies and eggs are all HAND MADE by my good friend Sarah. She is amazing.

You might notice something a little unusual amongst all this Easter stuff....yes, Justin got snow boots! Easter generally makes you think of tulips and bunnies and sunshine. Well, here in Cleveland we think of shoveling our driveway! Now Justin is fully equipped to shovel. :)

And one of my personal favorite Easter treats.... PEEPS! Anyone that knows me, knows how I feel about these little marshmallow sugary treats. I love them! I basically grew up on them. It runs through my blood. Notice they came in a package from my Mom and Dad! I'm not sure why 75% of the population think they are disgusting. I just don't get how you could not love to bite into one of these! And I have to eat the ears first, then the body...YUM!

Ashley Robinson....I know exactly what is going through your head right now! :)

Happy Spring!

Today is officially the first day of spring! Hooray!! Well, I guess it's not really spring at our house. Cleveland is a little behind on the whole season thing, since it SNOWED here last night! I have taken things into my own hands and brought a little sunshine into my kitchen. It's fake of course, but it will have to due until the temperature starts to rise.

Since it is still cold outside, we have been stuck inside the house trying to entertain ourselves. This past Monday, we had a guy in our ward and his two boys over for Family Home Evening. We all sat down to dinner and noticed that Jack was choking on something. It kind of came and went so we weren't too worried about it. I couldn't find anything in his mouth either. Then he starts choking pretty bad and starts throwing up! Justin said he saw something that could have been what he was choking on but I only saw throw up. :) So after he gains control of himself again, we proceed to eat dinner. We finished up and were having an Easter lesson in the family room when I notice him chewing on something. I was able to get it out of his mouth and found this metal star that came off one of my Willow Tree figurines. I was so glad that he didn't try to swallow it before I could get it out! Anyways, to make a long story short, he put on quite the show for our guests and are now extremely careful of what is around our house!

My Little Shadow!

Stacey and I have decided that since we are so bad at writing in our journals we ought to convert our blog into our family journal. Therefore, I decided that I better add something every now and then (for my posterity's sake)! I really hope that I am not too boring since we all know Stacey is the creative one in this family. One of my favorite things lately is having a permanent shadow from the time I walk in the door until the time Jack goes to bed at night! He relentlessly follows me from one room to the next and never seems to tire from it. I was playing a trick on him a couple nights ago to see how many times he would follow me from the kitchen to the family room. I think he did it like four or five times before he got sad and started whining a little. He also likes to ride around on my shoulders now! It is so funny because the only way he can hold on tight is by grabbing my hair. I usually will go in front of the mirror and jump up and down with him so he can see himself. He loves it! If I stop jumping, even for a second, he will pull even harder on my hair signaling to me that he wants to keep jumping. The best part is what Stacey and I like to call the "silent laugh." When we are jumping up and down he will open his mouth so wide and smile so big as if he were going to laugh so hard but nothing will come out. It is the funniest thing! I never thought I could love that little guy as much as I do! He is my best buddy!

Toy of the Week

Justin's Mom and Dad gave both Connor and Jack this cute little airplane for Christmas. This past week, it has been Jack's FAVORITE toy. He plays with it everyday and has had so much fun with it! This definitely was a good find from Grandma and Grandpa Heaton!! Thanks so much!

He loves to watch the propeller go around, especially with the lights going!

He loves to give his stuffed animals a ride! :) The brown bear in the middle was Justin's favorite teddy when he was a little boy. I love that Jack plays with it now.

We were giving Jack rides around the house on it and he never even cracks a smile. It's funny to see him so serious. I wondered at first if he was scared but I really don't think he is. Maybe he is too busy worrying about holding on tight!

I'm not sure why these last two videos appear black, but if you push play, they still work.

Late Wicked Pictures

We forgot our camera when we went to Wicked and our friends just sent us these pictures. I wanted to still post them, even though I already made a post about the play. There are so many people that we know here that have gone and everyone can't get over how good it is! We will definitely be going again.

Sweet Little Girl

I was reading my new friend, MEGHAN'S BLOG, and she had posted a prayer that her 5 year old girl had said. I thought it was so funny!! I love how sweet and innocent little kids are...

...PLEASE HELP MY SKIN TO KEEP GROWING, SO THAT MY BONES DON'T BREAK OUT. PLEASE HELP HEAVENLY FATHER AND JESUS TO MAKE GOOD CHOICES, AND EAT HEALTHY FOOD...

How cute is that??!

Just as a side note...

I just saw two people cross country skiing down our street...weird!

Snow, snow, and more snow!

It has not stopped snowing once since yesterday morning. We are expected to have over two feet when all is said and done. Justin shoveled the driveway for me this morning so that I could go to the gym. I went and picked up Brittany, but barely made it down her road. Then, it had snowed so much and drifted so bad while we were sweating on the treadmill that we got stuck in the parking lot! Luckily three guys that felt sorry for us as we were trying to dig ourselves out with our hands, came with a shovel and eventually pushed us out. I had my window rolled down and they kept yelling out all these instructions. "Reverse! Forward! Reverse! Gun it! Give it some gas! Reverse! Forward!" Needless to say, I got a full lesson on how to get your car out of the snow. :) So I made it home, thanks heavens, but Justin had to shovel the driveway AGAIN just so I could pull in the garage! Now it is 3pm and I am looking out the window and can't even see down our street. It is dumping. We had a ward activity tonight that has been canceled and the news is telling everyone not to leave their house unless you have to. It's days like these that I think we need to upgrade to a SUV!

George Strait & Little Big Town

Friday, Justin's Air Force recruiter called wondering if we wanted some George Strait tickets for Saturday. We aren't the biggest country music fans but we weren't about to turn down a free date! Him and his wife were originally going to come with us but their babysitter canceled on them so we called our friends, Holly and Adam at the last minute.

The band Little Big Town opened for him and they were so good!! We both thought that they were more entertaining than George Strait. They had amazing harmony and were a lot of fun to watch. I will definitely be down loading some of their songs soon.

Oops! Sorry Justin...did you want to be in the picture? :)

I swear George Strait has been around FOREVER!! I was actually surprised at how many songs I knew. Overall, it was a really fun night. We didn't feel like we were in Cleveland anymore. There were cowboys wearing tight jeans and boots and cowboy hats all over the place! I love to people watch so it was one of the highlights of the night for me!

More Snow

Justin took Jack out to play in the snow for a little bit and he loved it! It was pretty cold though so they couldn't stay out long. I love his little pink nose. We have had a lot of snow this past week and are looking forward to SPRING! :)
