My Boys
This post is dedicated to my two favorite boys. I just can't get enough of them! Jack looked so cute in his suit jacket and loafers on Sunday that I HAD to take a picture. Man those two are good looking! :)
You've Been Boo'd

We had lots of extra cookies left over from the party, so we decorated them and went and Boo'd some of our neighbors on our street. (You give them a treat and then they are supposed to put the sign on their door and do it to someone else.) It was Jack's first Door Ditching experience! I thought he might give us away, but he didn't make a peep. He's good at it already! :)
Happy Halloween
It's that time of year again! I cannot believe that October has come and gone and you know what that means.....the Holidays are on their way!! I can't wait! But Halloween definitely is one of the most fun holidays of the year. I love the costumes, parties and trick-or-treaters! We held a Halloween party at our house on Saturday that turned out to be a blast. Costumes were required and were a definite hit. We had everything from pumpkins to hockey players to cats (aka...Stacey) to cowboys (aka...Justin). We decorated cookies, carved pumpkins and had dinner. Jack didn't last in his costume very long, especially the hat. We did get some cute pictures though, so I guess that's all that counts. Thank you to everyone who came! It was so much fun! I hope everyone else had a great Halloween as well!!!
So this Halloween season has brought on an unusual hatred for squirrels. I had so many cute pumpkins lining the steps up to our front door. One day, after Jack and I went running, we were sitting outside and I was catching my breath on our front steps. I heard a strange noise and turned around to see a squirrel sitting right next to me eating one of my pumpkins! I was so mad that I got up and immediately chased it away. Obviously I wasn't scary enough because every few days or so, I would find another pumpkin with big bite marks all over it, or the pumpkin was completely gone! I went from 10 pumpkins to 4 in no time. Then, yesterday Jack and I were pulling out of our driveway when I saw one walking up to Justin's pumpkin that he had spent so long carving. I stopped the car and started running after it! I was NOT going to let it ruin that one as well! But the squirrel just looked at me, walked up to Justin's pumpkin, grabbed the spider part and ran up the tree! I was so mad! I officially hate squirrels.
Matt and Taylor had the best costumes by far!!! His wrestling suit actually has a fan that constantly keeps him inflated!! It was hilarious!

The Mecham's brought their son Jackson, and we went trick-or-treating down our street. I love his kangaroo costume!! And yes....Jack is only five months old, so of course Justin and I ate all of his candy! :) We already bought the costume, so we figured we might as well get something out of it! Haha!!

It's official!

Justin recently applied and was accepted for a scholarship with the U.S. Air Force. When he turned his application in, there were only 19 left for the whole nation and he received one of those 19! Today he went and signed the official documents accepting the scholarship and he now belongs to the Air Force, as well as our first born child...haha...just kidding! We have put a lot of thought into this and done a lot of research trying to decide if this was something that would work for our family. After all that we have found out, we are very excited and feel a huge relief that we won't be leaving dental school with $300,000 in debt! They pay for EVERYTHING the remaining three years he is in school. So nice! After Justin graduates, we will be moving to a base, most likely here in the states, and he will work as a dentist for them for three years. Once he completes three years in the Air Force we can leave and start a dental practice hopefully somewhere much closer to home! Everyone that we have talked to that has done the same thing, or involved in it in some way has enjoyed their experience and if they had the choice to do it all over, they would. Hopefully, it proves to be as good of experience for us as well!

Jack's new cousins
Madison Marie Hillman7 lbs. 10 oz. 20.5 inches

to Stephanie and Travis Hillman
(my sister)

Connor Ryan Heaton
6 lbs. 7 oz. 19 inches
Born October 24, 2007
to Ryan and Stephanie Heaton
(Justin's brother)
Jack has anxiously awaited the arrival of his new cousins. He is so excited to have someone his age to play with when we visit our families! They are too cute. They both arrived here safely but Madison insisted on getting some extra attention with the doctors. (Thanks goodness she's okay!) These little babies make me realize how big Jack is getting. They are both so little. I still feel like I just had Jack and that he is a new born and then I look at him and remember that he is almost five months! Wow, they get big so fast! I told my sister-in-law, Stephanie to hold him and snug him lots now because pretty soon he won't hold still long enough for you to snug him! We can't wait to see them. We will see Madison at Thanksgiving and Connor at Christmas!
Hooray!
Hooray!

I love the Fall

On our run around our neighborhood yesterday, Jack and I stopped to take some pictures of the beautiful leaves. I had heard that the Fall was a fun time to be in Ohio but I had no idea it would be this beautiful! Jack got to get out of the jogger and stretch out in the leaves. It was the perfect day...warm, but not too hot. I figured we better take advantage because I have a feeling those kind of days are over. Today it is cold, windy and rainy! I am not ready for winter!!!! I'm ready for all the fun Holidays, but not quite ready for the cold. I can't believe how fast the time is flying by here in Cleveland. Justin only has until Thanksgiving and his first semester is already over and behind him. Jack is going to be five months old, which seems crazy! My sister's baby seems like she was born yesterday and she is almost a month old and my sister-in-law is being induced tonight at 10pm to have her baby! Everything is just flying by, I can't believe it!

For Claire and Dustin...
Our good friends Claire and Dustin came to visit us this weekend! They came Friday night and we were so glad to see them. Saturday, we spent the day in Kirtland seeing all the church history sites and Saturday night we went to the Barnum and Bailey Circus. It was a blast! I have to admit, when it first started, there was a little clown show and I was not impressed. I thought for sure this was going to be a long night. But from then on it just got better and better! It went from men on stilts to tigers that went on their hind legs and jumped like bunnies, to elephants, to a human cannon, a cute little dog show, flying trapeze, and everything in between! It was a really fun night. Sorry the pictures are blurry but it was really dark and my camera is not the greatest. It gives you some what of an idea. We even got to leave Jack at home with the babysitters. It was way past his bed time and it was kind of nice to just go and enjoy it.
This lady was so high! She did a balancing act from it that seriously made us so nervous. She had no net below her or any kind of harness. I know this sounds dumb, but I was getting a nervous feeling in my calves! Go figure...maybe I have Restless Leg Syndrome! I know, I'm weird.
Our friends, Matt and Taylor came along as well. We are glad to have so many good friends here.
Jack just fell in love with these two! He would just sit and stare at Dustin. It was fun!
Claire and I took advantage of the costumes at the Kirtland temple museum! I don't think we would have made it in the pioneer days.
Justin took this picture...I love how blue the sky is! We were blessed with good weather all weekend!
Man...I miss this girl!Friday, October 19, 2007
A few more of my favorites...
I put him down for a nap, and usually he cries for about ten minutes before falling asleep. This time he cried for about two seconds and then stopped. I thought there was no way that he could be asleep already so I went to check on him and he had put the blanket over his face and was just laying there quietly. He loved it! So I left him and checked back in a minute to find him sound asleep!
