Happy New Year!

We went over to the Mecham's house to play games and eat snacks and welcome in 2008. We had a blast, as we always do with them. We borrowed a pack n' play so that Jack could go sleep while we celebrated the new year.

Brittany Mecham, myself, and Taylor Hall

This is around 1 am when we were leaving to go home. Jack was a little confused. He looks delirious in this picture.

Winter Wonderland

Yesterday we had our first big snow since we have been here. It snowed ALL day long. Last night Justin made me go outside with him so we could measure. It was 7 inches. This morning I had to go outside and dig out our garbage so the garbage man would know that we had some! All you could see were a couple of ties at the top. I measured this morning and it was almost 9 inches.
It was a lot of fun to watch it snow all day. The unfortunate thing is that we don't own a snow shovel. I was snowed in all day, which isn't all that bad, until Justin got home from school and borrowed a snow shovel. He is out there right now, so hopefully we can make it to the store tonight to invest in one. Luckily I had no where I had to be today!
This is Justin trying to make it up our front steps last night. You could not even see the steps at all!!

Getting Bigger...

Jack had his six month appointment a while ago and I forgot to post the results. It seems like he is such a big boy now. Everyday he has a new face or a new laugh or a new cry. He is such a good boy! He is so sweet and is completely mellow. He can entertain himself on the floor which is a huge bonus! He is also starting to hold his own bottle!! He can only hold his small 4 oz. ones but at least it's a start! I love it. I do have some mixed feelings about it though. It seems like he isn't quite as dependent on me and it makes me sad. We have truly been blessed with the cutest little boy ever!
6 Months
Weight: 16 lbs. 3 oz. 25th percentile
Height: 27 3/4 inches long, 80th percentile

Still long and skinny, just like his Daddy! :)
This is on New Year's Day. He was wearing his football jersey ready for the football games! I was so excited too because he can now fit into his Nike tennis shoes that my friend Kara gave him. They are to die for!! His feet look really big in these pictures...and I love that face in the second picture. He thinks his mom is pretty funny looking I guess.
He loves to wrestle with his new horse from his Aunt Sara. Thanks Sara!!!
Jack was so messy the other night! He had spit up and spilled and everything else possible that could make a baby messy. Justin gave him a taste of chocolate ice cream and that of course spilled as well. I guess this is just something I have to get used to. As my family would say, he is totally "sticky" in this picture.
He is trying so hard to crawl right now but he just can't quite figure out how to stay on his knees. He can get up onto his knees but then he falls back down to his belly. I guess I better enjoy my nice clean house while he is still stationary. This is his new favorite face. He opens his mouth really wide like he is going to scream and just stares at you that way. What a weirdy!!

We Wish You a Merry Christmas!!

We were able to spend Christmas with Justin's family this year. We spent the first week in Idaho Falls with Bob and Denise. I'm pretty sure they were more excited to see Jack than us. We got to see so many friends and I even got my hair done at Reflections!! Yeah!! I won't even tell you how long it had been. I definitely miss that convenience. We then headed down to Adam and Stephanie's house in Pleasant Grove, UT. It was a blast! They are so nice to let us all come down and mess up their house! Thanks again Stephanie and Adam!!! We aren't sure when we will all be together again but we hope it's sooner than later.

Christmas day

Jack fell in love with Justin's cousin Ashley. She was so good to him. It was good practice for her because she is expecting in June! Congrats Ashley and Tim!!
It started snowing on Christmas Eve and continued all through the night. I don't remember ever having a white Christmas. It was so fun!
The two new mommies and the two new babies

Christmas Rambo Jaxson

McKenna, Jaxson, Carson and Jaden
Jack had a blast with all of his cousins. McKenna made the best little babysitter! I wish she lived close to us.

Grandma and Grandpa Heaton

Jack loved opening all his presents!! He was pretty good at it too!

Christmas Day

The Jensen family came to Justin's parent's and watched Harry Potter with us. Scott didn't end up going to work and we were so glad!! The more time we get to be with the Jensen's the better! We love you guys!
We went to Justin's grandparent's house. We had dinner and played games all night long!! You can see Sharla was having a little too much fun!! Hee hee! It was a night of never ending laughs! I think we were trying to burn off some of the thousands of calories we consumed that night. oh, and just for the record....I WON!

Al and Sharla are so good to Jack. They babysat him and played with him all through the week. Al could always make Jack laugh.
We were able to drive by the Rexburg temple. It was really foggy but the temple is amazing! We can't wait to someday go inside.

Baby Connor

Ryan and Stephanie's baby, Connor, is SO CUTE! It was really fun to see him for the first time. He is such a sweet little baby. It makes me miss Jack when he was so little and cuddly. It is amazing what only four months will do!
We put the three "babies" who are all in diapers on the floor to compare sizes!! Stephanie and Adam's baby, Carson, is not so much a baby any more. He is so cute and FULL of energy! I'm sure Jack and Connor can't wait to be like their big cousin Carson.
Connor: 2 months Jack: 6 1/2 months Carson: 2 1/2 years

I am so glad that these two are the same age. I know that they will soon be friends!!

Ryan and Stephanie got a little Connor for Christmas!

Jack and Braden

We were able to spend some time (but not enough!) with the Jensen family. Their little boy Braden is 4 months older than Jack. They had so much fun together. Braden was very interested in grabbing Jack's face. It was hilarious. Every time I would try to take a picture of them he would go straight for Jack's face! He is too funny. I can't wait for them to grow up and be friends...just like their Dads.

This one is my favorite!

Long Time No Blogging!!!!

It's been SO LONG since I have been able to make a new post, or even check other blogs for that matter. We just got back from our Christmas vacation with Justin's family, and the house where we were staying most of the time doesn't have the internet!!! I won't mention any names....Bob and Denise!!! Anyways, my blogging withdrawals have come to an end. Hooray!!

These are a couple of pictures I took right before we left. Jack is wearing a sweater that Justin wore when he was a baby....I love it! He looks so cute in it.

Carrots

We gave Jack his first taste of vegetables with carrots. I am so surprised at how good he eats new things. He always gives a funny face at first but will end up eating the whole thing. Carrots are a little scary because they turn everything BRIGHT ORANGE!! Notice we are feeding him in the bath. He spit up bright orange, and not to mention something else that was bright orange the next day! :) I think he really likes them though which is good.

CHRISTMAS TREE

I was so excited to put up my Christmas tree this year because it fits so perfectly in my front window! It looks great from the street too. I have said before how much I love Christmas. I wish I could leave it up all year. (I won't tell you how early I put it up!)

I have to add...when we first painted our family room, we only painted one accent wall. Shortly after, we decided that we wanted to paint the whole thing. The other night, I got home after being gone only a couple of hours, and Justin had painted the whole thing!! I love it and I was SO HAPPY that he decided to surprise me because I was not looking forward to doing it. It makes an even better back drop for my Christmas tree. Thanks Justin!! You are the best!

I Love Lucy

This is Jack's friend Lucy. Her mom, Sarah, was so nice to watch Jack and FOUR other kids plus her own two while I went to a yoga class (which was so relaxing and a work out at the same time!) and I got to watch Lucy while she went to the gym also. Sarah is a brave girl with that many kids!! Lucy is the cutest little girl. She is so sweet. I love the picture at the bottom where Jack has his hand on her leg...he thinks she is his girlfriend or something! :)
