Jack had a Barnyard Moosical that was happening while we were in the states. His teacher held a special practice so I could come and see it before we left. It was hilarious! I was totally laughing behind the camera. I loved it. They are quite the performers! None of them seemed to be stage fright at all. I was quite impressed with their chicken skills.

Mother's Day

 I had a great Mother's Day. I felt so lucky that day to have these little guys in my life. Justin spoiled me and I felt extra blessed. Especially with one on the way! Even though I have days of frustration with the boys fighting and in constant need of my attention, there is nothing I could be doing that would be more fulfilling. They are so quick to forgive me when I am impatient and I love them for it. Being a mom makes me even more grateful for my own mom. Now I know what she had to deal with every day and it's not easy!

 We took these right before church and the sun was super bright. The kids had a hard time keeping their eyes open.

Justin made me breakfast, lunch, and dinner and took care of the kids all day. Don't you think everyday should be Mother's Day? I think we should vote on it. :)

Girl's Camp 2013

 We had Girl's Camp for our district in April during our spring break. This was the first Girl's Camp that I have been to since I was in young women's myself. I LOVED camp when I was in young women's so I was excited to go again as a leader. We had it up north in the most beautiful spot! Our camp had it's own private beach which was way cooler than anything I had when I went to camp. When I went to camp we had what was known as leech lake. Sounds fun, right?

 I was in charge of the polar bear dip, which was a tradition we had when I was in young women's. I met the girls down at the beach at 7:30am and whoever ran and jumped all the way in the water for three mornings straight would earn a polar bear bead at the end of the week. I jumped in with them...once. That was about all I could handle. I'm a weenie. 

The district leaders did a synchronized swimming skit. After looking through my pictures, I realized this is the only one I have that I am actually in the picture. Oh well. I was 8 weeks pregnant here, and super nauseous. I took naps every day and tried to go to bed as early as I could without letting too many people know my secret.  Besides being sick, it was a good week. I came home completely exhausted and glad I had survived the week!

I have so many good memories of Girl's Camp and coming home feeling spiritually renewed. It was fun to hear the girls share their testimonies in the end. Even the girls who aren't members of our church who attended shared their experiences from the week and the good feelings that they had inside. It made for the perfect ending.

My parent's visit: week 2

 I have continued to be lame with my blog, and have yet another big catch-up post! So just a warning...this one is long!

The second week that my parents were here, started with Easter. On Saturday we did a scavenger hunt. At each clue they had to do something active such as push-ups...

 ...jumping up and down, or dancing around. It was quite comical. Luckily my mom and I put it together, so we were able to watch and get a good laugh.

 They eventually found the loot and started to dig in!

On Sunday we tried to stick to the more spiritual side of Easter and did a little activity with the boys about the meaning of Easter.

 We spent one afternoon at White Beach. The tide was extremely low, which we were not anticipating, so it wasn't as pretty as it usually is. We found tons of good shells though and Justin and my dad went exploring.

Jack had a robot project that we all helped him with. He drew the blueprint and we copied it as best we could. I thought it turned out pretty good!

 A friend had told me about a little fishing village up north called Bise. It has a really cool trail of trees and lots of traditional style Japanese houses. It was really neat to walk around.

 We stopped at Ufoya restaurant on our way back. The setting was amazing! It was up on a hill buried in the trees. It was so beautiful. The food on the other hand...let's just say it's SUPER traditional, and traditional Japanese food is not our favorite. We can handle fried rice and udon noodles, but other than that, we are not really fans. So we didn't love the food, but the experience was neat. If we ever go there again, it will be strictly for the cream puffs. 

 We spent time at Okinawa World, and Shuri castle.

 We found an awesome lookout spot at Shuri castle. Check out all that concrete behind me! Now you know why they call it the concrete jungle. There's more jungle/rural parts up north or farther south, but this is what it looks like close to where we live. Crazy!

 We went to Zanpa point to see the lighthouse and practice our samurai moves. We are working on our inner peace.

 We even saw a sea turtle swimming!

The weather was not the greatest while they were here, but we managed to get out on the nice days and make the best of it. We LOVED having visitors! It's so fun to show people our life here on our little island. We can't wait for more!!
