First day of Preschool

Jack finally started his first day of preschool last week. With all of the changes we've had in our family over the summer, we are all more than excited to get into a routine and feel normal again. As we were trying to find a good preschool for him, I felt like we were striking out. He was on the waiting list for the preschool on the base, which who knows if he will ever get in. There was only one other preschool that was close that I had heard people recommend. Multiple people. But when I drove up to see it and meet the teacher...I was completely disappointed. It looked really ghetto. You couldn't even find the door to go in. And it was tiny, which I guess is fine, but it did not give me warm fuzzies while we were there. The teacher was nice, but I couldn't get over how ghetto it looked and it's on a sketchy road. We were SO spoiled with his school last year!! It definitely has set my standards high. Maybe I am being too picky, but I just didn't want to spend $160 a month for something I'm not totally in love with. So a couple of my friends decided to get together to do a co-op preschool. So far, it has been working out really well. The kids get a long great and we are all within walking distance of each other which makes it nice and easy.
We still tried to make a big deal about the first day, even though we were just doing a co-op. Anderson thought it was his first day of school too. As soon as he saw Jack put on his backpack, he HAD to put one on. Luckily, I found this little one that had Jack's sleeping bag in it. It passed the test, and he loved it. he didn't hardly take it off the whole time Jack was gone.

Jack has grown up a lot this year. It is fun to see his little mind working and to answer all of his questions. I love it, but it makes me a little sad. I just can't believe how big he is getting. He understands so much more which makes for some good conversations.

Anderson and I enjoyed our one on one time while Jack was gone. He was missing Jack, but loving all the attention. I never get to spend time with just Anderson and I, so it was fun for both of us.

Justin was home for lunch when we went to go and pick him up. Jack was telling him about his first day. He was a little confused as to why we went to Katie's house for school. He told Justin, "I thought I was going to a regular preschool. This is not a regular preschool. This is a house, not a building."
Can't fool him! Now that we've had a couple weeks of it, he thinks the idea of switching houses is fun. Especially when it was at our house.

He wore his new shirt that says "Rock Out" on it...this is his "Rock Out!" stance. :) All day he kept saying, "Look at my shirt. It says rock out!!" He is all about what is "cool". Cool shirt, cool flip flops, cool movies, cool toys. "Mom, I want to play with something cooler."
Isn't this starting a little early?

We came home and had Mickey Mouse sandwiches for lunch, which the boys thought were awesome.
During lunch Jack says to me, "Mom, take a picture of my creepy face."
Weirdee!
This is one of the papers he brought home. The things that he loves were supposed to be puppies and cars. His favorite book is one about Buzz and Woody. And his favorite food is macaroni and cheese.

Hopefully we can teach these kiddos enough to be ready for Kindergarten next year!!

Dance Moves

Anderson makes us laugh every day. He is starting to talk a lot and does some pretty funny stuff. His dancing is one of our favorites!! He is hilarious, and can't even hear a song without dancing to it. We love it. Here is a little clip for your entertainment. :)

The last year before 30!

Justin turned 29 on the 31st of August. He was lucky enough to have a half day and came home at 11am. The boys are always so sad when Justin is at work, so half days are pretty exciting around here.
We opened presents, did the Birthday bucket, and had all the dental residents and their families over for cake and ice cream. It was a pretty classic birthday. Nothing too fancy, just some good food and good friends, which is what we enjoy the most. Justin and I went out to eat that weekend to have a slightly more relaxing celebration. There are 15 kids between all the residents and I think the oldest is 7. So it gets a little crazy when we are all together. They even helped Justin blow out his 29 candles.

Happy Birthday Justin!!!
I hope you enjoy your last year before 30!
....so old.

Ship Island

Our first weekend after moving into our house, some of the dental residents got together and went out to Ship Island. You take a ferry ride for almost an hour out to this little island with clear water and a great beach. You stay and play for a few hours and then ride the boat back. It was VERY hot that day and we were all sweating on the boat ride. The boat left at 9am and it was already sweltering. But we once we got there and jumped in the water, it was perfect. The water cooled you down just enough.
We even saw dolphins on our way out there. This is the only picture I got and it was pretty far away. Every time I would turn my camera off, they would swim up to the top. Then once I had my camera ready, we didn't see anything. Go figure!

We all enjoyed the water. Jack has been getting a lot more brave these days. He has always been pretty timid around water, but this summer has been really good for him. We swam a lot in Washington and I think he is getting more comfortable. Jack and Justin both got stung by little jellyfish. We didn't know what it was at first, but Jack kept saying that his leg was stinging. So we asked the lifeguards and they said there are little jellyfish and the only thing to do is to wait for it to go away. Luckily, the sting only lasted for about ten minutes. It made me a little nervous though. I am not a fan of jellyfish.
Anderson loved the sand. He played and played and played in the sand all day long.
He found a nice little shady spot by our umbrella and sat there for over an hour digging and filling up his bucket. He would fill it up, and dump it out. Fill it up, and dump it out. He was covered in sand and loving every minute of it.

Justin works with some really great people who have been so nice to us and made our move much easier. Everyone is very friendly and outgoing, so we have really enjoyed spending time with them. I miss our Cleveland friends a LOT but it is nice to know that you can find good people anywhere you go.

Number 6

We celebrated our 6th anniversary, the weekend after we arrived in Mississippi. I can't hardly believe it's been six years!! Being away from Justin for six weeks, made me fall in love with him all over again. Our time away just reaffirmed to me what a good match we are. It made me realize how much I need Justin in my life. He really is amazing. I couldn't ask for a better person to be married to.
And I'm sure he would say the same things about me.....right?? :)
We had a friend come over and watch the boys, while we went and walked on the beach, and then went out to dinner. And yes, I think it is amazing and super fun to live by the beach!
We went to dinner at "The Shed". Which, literally, is a shed. It is made out of tons of random junk. The people there were a little rough around the edges, but the Southern BBQ was SO good! This place was like walking into a movie. There was a live band playing songs about being lazy in New Orleans. They were so good too! It was such a fun place to go to. We will definitely be making this a tradition while we are here. The Shed also won the Ultimate Hometown Grill Off on LIVE! Regis and Kelly, and was named the Best BBQ Sandwich in America by National BBQ News Magazine. So it comes with some pretty good recommendations.

We saw this truck on our way out and HAD to take a picture. I probably wouldn't even make it up into the truck. Welcome to the South!!

Delgado Wedding 8.11.11

Whitney and Kevin were married and sealed in the Portland, Oregon temple. We are so happy for these two! Kevin is a great guy and he makes Whitney happy. :)
This is Kevin's little niece Lily. She is so cute!

 Love my sisters :)

Everything was perfect and wonderful that day except for one thing. My Grandpa Brownell, who performed the sealing, was talking to my dad afterwards during the pictures when he passed out. It was very scary and we had an ambulance and the whole nine yards. Luckily, he just needed some food, and after a while was feeling well enough to ride the three hours home. There was bad traffic the whole way home and we were trying to rush to get to the ring ceremony and dinner at Kelli's parent's house. Despite all that happened, we made it back, and everything turned out great. My Grandpa still came, even after we tried to make him stay home and rest. He is a trooper!
The ring ceremony was beautiful and the setting was amazing. We had it out on the lawn with the water in the background. It was very picturesque.
Jack carried the rings up the isle to them. He was so cute! I was amazed that he actually did it. I thought for sure he would not want to, but I was pleasantly surprised. He handed the rings over and ran right over to my dad to sit with him.

Both the boys were so good during the ceremony! I was relieved that I didn't spend the whole time chasing them and trying to keep them quiet.

Does it get any more beautiful than this?? It was the perfect ending to the day.

Scott, Anderson, Kelli, and baby :) They will be having the first "Brownell" baby boy the end of October.

 Goofballs

The next day we had the reception at my parent's house. It turned out so so so cute!! We worked SO hard, but our hard work paid off because I thought the whole thing turned out amazing.

The car was my favorite part.

A BIG thanks to Steph and Matt for watching my boys while we went down to Portland for the wedding. You are the best!!

To try and get all these little grandkids to look at the camera and smile is not an easy task. We were all jumping and making noises, and basically looking like retards, to try and get them to look. It was quite the scene.

Jack and Megan sneaking away from the pictures to play croquet.

We ended the night with a little dancing.
My boys will never pass up an opportunity to show off some moves, which they most definitely inherited from their father.

Congrats Delgado's!!
