Splash Party

Before Jack's birthday, we had a combined birthday party with all of our friends. Henry and Jack Robbins have birthdays around the same time so we combined forces and had one big bash. It was an outdoor "Splash Party" complete with sprinklers, slip n slides, a pool, and water balloons. The forecast called for a chance of rain and thunderstorms but luckily the clouds parted and the sun came out just in time.

The boys have made so many good friends that we are going to miss! I can't believe in another month we will be leaving Mississippi. It will be a sad day to leave everyone.

Oliver was going to town on his cupcake and did not want to be interrupted for a picture. :) I love that face!

 Jack (5), Henry (2), Jack R. (4)

This was the kick off to the birthday festivities, which seemed to keep going and going! I guess you only turn 5 once, right?

Happy Father's Day!

We are lucky to have one great Dad in this house. He loves his boys and the boys think the world of him. Hopefully they grow up to be just like him. He is always so thoughtful and considerate of others. He has a strong testimony of the gospel and is always trying to find a moment to teach the boys.
Jack can't wait to grow up and be a "real man" like his dad. He told me that he thinks he might ask Santa for a lawn mower for Christmas so that he can mow the grass with his dad, cut the grass with his dad, and rake the grass with his dad.

Anderson goes through these phases of who he is attached to, and right now, it would be Justin. We went to his AEGD graduation and Anderson could hardly wait for it to be over so he could be with his dad. He kept saying, "But where's my Dad? But I need my Dad."

Happy Father's Day!
We love you Justin!

5 years old

Jack is five years old today. I can't believe it. I feel like he has grown up a lot this year. He is getting so tall and looking way too old these days. I now have to shop in the big boy clothes for him! That is so weird to me. Of course he loves it. He thinks it's totally awesome that we have to go to a whole different section for his clothes than Anderson's clothes. He told me "I can't find shirts over here because I'm too big for them." It's true. He is too big. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I love this "big boy" though. He is very curious right now and asks questions about everything. "Are boats faster than cars? Is there such thing as skeletons? Is John Mayer a real person?" You love that last one? We have been listening to the new John Mayer album in the car and he asked me that yesterday. You can just see his little wheels turning in his head trying to figure all the questions he has. He is a sweetheart. He kind of likes to whine.... a lot. But we're working on that. He is in to everything that is "cool". Super heroes, airplanes (only cool ones), light sabers, swords, pirates. In fact, we are having a pirate party today. It should be fun!
Happy Birthday Jack!
We love you.

Preschool Graduation

Jack was very excited for us to come to his preschool graduation. I was surprised at how well he sang all of the songs and did just what his teacher asked. We were proud of him.

 Lillie, Katy, Jackson, Jack
(All of their dads are in the AEGD program together)

Jack and Katy were in Miss Jenny's class. Jack really enjoyed her.
These two are like two peas in a pod. Everyday after school, they would decided whose house they were going to play at that day. They love to play together, and despite being a girl and a boy, they enjoy a lot of the same things. It will be a sad day when we move away from each other.

Here is a little sample from the program that night...

Animal Kingdom

Our last day at Disney, we headed over to Animal Kingdom. This is where we were able to see the most characters and fill up our autograph book. I was happy about that, since we bought it our first day and hadn't filled it up yet. We were all a little tired by this time, but managed to make it through the whole day.

 I loved Minnie's safari outfit.

 Everest in the background.

We went on a safari ride and loved the hippos. They are huge!

If you look to the left of the rock, you can see the baby elephant.

 Janie liked the bumpy ride!
The scenery at Animal Kingdom was so pretty.

Behind us is the Tree of Life.

 Some more parade action!

Winnie the Pooh is my favorite.

We ended the day in Dino Land! The kids really liked the rides, and digging in the bone yard. It was so nice because there wasn't a ton of people.

After the park closed, we got the kids washed up and in their pj's. Within a few minutes they were both asleep, with their Disney treasures in hand. We drove back to Pete and Brittany's house and we slept in until 9:15!!! I don't know if that has ever happened! The kids were exhausted, as well as us, and luckily they slept all morning. It was so nice. We had the best time at Disney and loved being with the Mecham's!! It will definitely be a favorite memory of ours for a long time.
